Saudi Arabia
(Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – KSA)
(Al Arabiyah as Suudiyah)
Profile:
Saudi Arabia is the birthplace of Islam and home to Islam's two holiest cities in Mecca and Medina. The modern Saudi state was founded in 1932 and today is ruled by Abdallah bin Abd al-Aziz. Saudi Arabia is the worlds leading producer of oil and natural gas and holds more than 20% of all proven oil reserves. Economic reform and diversification continue to run full steam ahead, particularly since Saudi Arabia's accession to the WTO in December 2005. Foreign investment is highly encouraged in the Kingdom and a range of career options and opportunities are available in an increasingly diverse and higher skilled employment scenario. Additionally the Government has substantially boosted spending on job training and education, and infrastructure development, to move away from the reliance upon an oil-based economy.
